David Romero, President
David was raised in Wichita Falls, TX. He graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in 2004 with a B.A. in Missions.
He and his wife Kim served as missionaries in Nicaragua for five years, where they developed relationships and programs that led to establishing The Way Foundation in 2014. They continue to serve the people in Nicaragua through The Way Foundation student programs and short term mission trips.
David and Kim have two children (Cruz and Juliette) and currently live in the Oklahoma City area, where he is a patrol officer for the Oklahoma City Police Department. Kim is a Certified Public Accountant and supervisor at Chesapeake Energy.
Kyle Mauck, Director of Missions
Kyle and his wife Audrey own and operate 2ND Mile Solutions LLC out of Edmond, OK. 2ND Mile Solutions is an AT&T Solution Provider that specializes is designing, installing and maintaining corporate communications services. Kyle spent 19 years working directly for AT&T before starting 2ND Mile Solutions. Kyle named the company after Matthew 5:41, “…go with them two miles.”
Kyle and Audrey both graduated from Oklahoma Christian University and have been members at the Edmond Church of Christ in Edmond, OK since 1991. Kyle serves as a Shepherd there and has been heavily involved with the church’s mission work in Nicaragua, which led to the complementary and joint mission work that The Way Foundation sponsors. Kyle has led a yearly mission trip to Nicaragua since 2006 and he oversees The Way Foundation’s mission efforts in Nicaragua. Audrey is the Missions Coordinator for the Edmond Church of Christ. They have two children, Carson and Kerrigan.
Ever since becoming friends with David and Kim Romero, Kyle and Audrey have grown to deeply love the kind people of Nicaragua and they now have many, many Christian brothers and sisters from the North to the South of that beautiful country. God has clearly called both of them to continue growing the Lord’s kingdom in Nicaragua.
Dr. Scott Bedichek is a Periodontist practicing in the north Fort Worth, TX. He lives in North Richland Hills with his wife, Heather and their three children, Avery, Kendall, and Judson. He is passionate about oral surgery and periodontics and uses that passion in medical missions to Latin America. He has served and continues to serve on the board of directors for 2 other non-profit missional organizations. Dr. Bedichek brings an expertise about culture, healthcare, and non-profit missional organizations to WFI.
Dr. Bedichek has been on multiple trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Haiti, and The Dominican Republic.
He serves as a deacon at his church and is very involved with local medical missions for the impoverished in Fort Worth.
Dustin lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with his wife and two children, and is employed as a mechanical engineer.
Dustin is an active member and deacon of his local congregation and serves on the church’s Missions Committee. Through the church’s outreach opportunities, he has been able to go on numerous mission trips including many to Nicaragua.
